BH: You created an entire career around your personal journey – struggles overcome and wisdom gained. Tell us your story!

Gemini: I feel like I was prepped for failure in love after watching my mom and most of my extended family members struggle with love, often times ending up in domestic violence and abuse. The worst of it landed on me when at 18, after recently meeting and moving in with my dad, his wife asked me to take a paternity test. After fighting her against it, something inside me wanted to know. The test turned out negative. My mom later confessed to me that she was so in love with this man that she decided to lie to him to try to keep him. Well, it didn’t work. That was so devastating to me.

Later in life I knowingly married someone I knew wasn’t the one, but I had convinced myself that marriage would make me fall in love with him and solve everything. Five years later I divorced him and jumped into another relationship, hoping to get from him what I couldn’t get from my marriage. It turned out to be the worst relationship of my life, full of verbal and emotional abuse. If I had stayed longer I’m sure domestic violence would be next.

This is when I became completely confused and hopeless about love. I saw myself heading in the same direction as most of my family. I figured True Love only happened for some people, but not everyone… and clearly it was never going to happen for me. This was one of the most devastating moments of my life; to think I was never going to have the thing I felt I was born to experience with a partner.

This conclusion propelled me into a profound healing journey that helped me get to the bottom of all my struggles with love. And I did. I worked on healing all the patterns inside me that literally kept repelling true love and attracting bad relationships. A few days after feeling so empowered within myself I met an amazing man, who I’m now engaged to. We are incredibly happy, compatible, and so in love as I had always dreamed of being my whole life.

After going from the worst to the best relationship of my life, I realized how much women continue to struggle with love. Not just single women, but a lot of women in relationships too. I realized I had solved the puzzle of love and saw an opportunity to help other women find hope and furthermore, confidence to have the love they truly deserve in this life without having to play games, compromise, or give up who they are. So I started Dream Relationship Coaching!

BH: What advice do you have for all the Business Heroines out there who want to invent their own career, like you did?

Gemini: Just go for it. Whatever you’re passionate about, whatever you’re educated and/or experienced in, whatever you’ve overcome, whatever you feel you can help people with the best, that’s it. That’s what you’re meant to do. Your consistent focus in pursuing a business with this passion of yours is what guarantees success.

As Ghandi said, “Dreams at first seem impossible, then seem improbable, and finally, when we commit ourselves, become inevitable.” Before and soon after you start inventing your own career the whole thing may seem improbably, and when you commit yourself that dream becomes inevitable. As long as you don’t give up, there’s no option but to succeed.

BH: Who are you most passionate about working with?

Gemini: I love working with women who are really ready for change and healing; women who have had it with their unfulfilling relationships, who are not willing to get into another one until they know they won’t repeat the same patterns and mistakes. I enjoy coaching these women because they have that deep desire and commitment it takes to be coachable without resistance.

These are the women who experience the deepest healing in the shortest period of time, which often results in them finding true love a lot sooner than they had expected. For me it’s such a gift to witness the miracle of a woman going from hopelessness or confusion to great success in love with themselves, life, and a partner.

BH: What are the biggest mistakes women make when it comes to finding true love?

Gemini: Believing you’re not worth the kind of love you deserve, leading with your sexual energy, being needy for love or attached to someone being the one, making him more important than you, and being jaded which is a way of speaking/feeling negatively about men.

BH: Can you share some examples of women you’ve worked with who made those mistakes and then came out the other side?

Gemini: I had one client in her 20′s who had been in two long term relationships that both became quite abusive. She was always stressed and depressed, feeling she didn’t deserve better. She had deemed herself damaged goods and felt lucky to find someone who would take her. In our work together she was able to see how these patterns of feeling unworthy were totally under her control, not the guys she was with. She regained her confidence and strength. About 8 sessions into our work she met the man of her dreams, who is literally everything she had ever wanted in a partner, and more. They have 100% respect, love, and great communication. They couldn’t be happier and they’re even discussing marriage.

Another woman came to me, after her husband had asked for a divorce. She was devastated and desperately asked for advice for what she could say or do to make him love her. She was willing to be whatever he wanted her to be, even if it didn’t feel right. She was even letting him mistreating her. This of course, had him lose even more respect for her because she wasn’t respecting herself.

Through our work together she was able to break all those patterns, which resulted in cultivating an incredible strength, self respect, and trust in life. She realized that the only way to try to save this marriage was to take the risk of being her true self. She learned that she doesn’t have control over anyone, and she can’t make anyone love her, but what she does have a say in is how well she treats and values herself. She came home to herself, started respecting herself, and although the decision to stay together or not hasn’t been made, she knows she’ll be ok. She knows she’ll have the love she truly deserves, one way or another.

Gemini: Honey, you are worth more than gold. You are a living Goddess. You don’t have to compromise yourself, play games, or give up who you are for a relationship, for love, for a man, or for anything at all. You are lovable just the way you are right now, and you deserve all the love you’ve always dreamed of. You just have to know it.
