NAME, CLAIM, DONE.

{}

Remember when you were little and you just made stuff up? And pretended it was real?

You didn’t think, “Oh my gosh, this is way too major. I can NOT pretend this thing! What if it doesn’t really happen? What if I’m crazy to imagine this?”

You just claimed what was in your imagination and went along with it.

And it was REAL for you.

If you were anything like me, on any given day, you could pretend that your bedroom floor was made of hot lava and that your bed was a safe house. Or that you lived in a forest and were a magical ballerina fairy with wings. Or that ET was coming to live with you one day.

I pretended all these things and guess what?

My mom did put me in dance school a few years later. And I got asked to dance the role of “Les Sylphide.” A magical sylph with wings.

And ET? One year, my whole family gifted me with ET toys and posters and…. ET did live with me.

All the stuff in my imagination came true in some shape or form.

Last week my mastermind sisters and I were talking about claiming what we want in our lives and businesses BEFORE we see evidence of that thing. Essentially pretending something was real…before it was.

My friend Ariana Pritchett reminded me of how I did that when I claimed I was a “Performing Speaker.” I had this idea that I wanted to mix spoken word and acting with speaking. But was I doing it? Nope. But I put that title up on my site.

It was real in my imagination.

And suddenly, no joke, I got all these opportunities to be a performing speaker. I am performing weekly. Sometimes twice/week. And the engagements are coming to me.

To be honest, I claimed the Performing Speaker title about 8 months ago. And the offers started rolling in very recently. So for 8 months, I didn’t put any physical effort into going out and finding places that would want me to be a performing speaker.

But I did ACT like a performing speaker in other ways. I wrote poetry. I said I was a Performing Speaker. I named 2013 the “year of performing.”

This is very different from the way I am used to doing biz. Hard work. Making shit happen. Producing results. Fussing and fretting.

Not just naming and claiming and… voila. It shows up. Now, don’t get me wrong I still put energy and effort into my desires. As of now I am prepping for a launch and it’s important to me so I am a “Task Warrior” as my biz partner Regena Garrepy likes to say. I am focused on the “doing.”

But I’m not worrying about the other desires that I don’t have space to put physical energy into. I am naming and claiming those things as done.

I know you’re probably a busy woman. And I know there are things you want that you might not have time to work on right now.

So what if… as an experiment… you just named that thing you want but don’t have time for right now? And claimed it as already done.

What if you claimed you were a performing speaker and smacked that title on your site? Done.

What if you claimed that you were a retreat leader? Done.

What if you claimed (like one of my soul sisters did) that your adopted baby was on its way? Done.

What if you claimed that you were a successful biz owner? Done.

What if you claimed that you had a singing gig? Done.

What if you claimed that thing and then stopped worrying, fussing, or angling on how to make it happen? I mean, since you don’t have time in your schedule to actually work on that thing anyway. Why be a fussy female?

That’s no fun.

Name. Claim. Done.

I would love to hold space for you to name and claim something you’ve been noodling over but haven’t fully owned. Share below and be witnessed, love!
