Spring Awakening – Clear the Clutter to Feel the Freshness!

{}

Ahhhhh… we are starting to feel the fresh spark of spring.  What is it about Spring that inspires a certain ritual that involves dusting, sweeping and clearing out the clutter?  It got me thinking what if we are as committed to clearing out our mental junk as we are to the cleaning of closets, cabinets and rooms?

Cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore; it can be an awakening to a fresh and new mindset.

It is easy for us to carry our old boxes of mental junk around with us, repeating the same limitations, patterns, and failures over and over again. It’s time to dump those limiting beliefs instead of holding onto them like that jacket in your closet that hasn’t been worn for over 5 years.  When it comes to the cleaning of your beliefs, self-sabotaging ones should not be be hoarded but rather released.

If you clear out negative thinking and bad habits it can actually free up some space for what’s new, positive and possible.

Here are 3 steps to help you clear your mind of clutter:

1. Take control – Only you can choose what thoughts to dwell on.  Our day can be full of moments that make us annoyed at circumstances or people.  If you let negative thoughts about yourself or others take up the room in your mind, you won’t leave too much room for anything else. Learn to let the negative thoughts go and not let it affect your entire day.  Remember you are the only one who can decide what thoughts to focus on.  Make more of an effort to choose your thoughts rather than just operate on autopilot.

2. Prioritize your to do list – We all have the infamous “to do list” but what if you can prioritize or eliminate actions on it?  This will keep you from feeling overwhelmed so you can focus on what truly needs to get done instead of trying to do it all.  Also learn the “art of saying no” when it comes to taking on more than you can handle.  Prirotizing your to-do list will also help you to enjoy the moment instead of only thinking what needs to get done next.

3. Get Grateful – Make a gratitude list every single day so that you can see the blessings in your life, not just the hardships.  This will help you appreciate where you are and what you have.  Operating from an abundant mindset instead of a lack one=is a powerful shift that will make all the difference in your life.

Spring is the perfect time of year to let go of old, limiting beliefs that have held you back from a life of unleashed passion and purpose.

By releasing what is old and in the way, your dreams will finally have the room to thrive and flourish.
