Spotlight Interview: Ute Lambrecht on Masterminding Your Life’s Purpose

In 2013, Ute Lambrecht had enough of sitting on the fence trying to find her Life’s Purpose, and just decided on one. After clarifying what she deeply desired in her life, which is to be free both in expressing herself authentically as well as financially, she decided to make it her Life’s Purpose to live in a world where everyone enjoys this freedom.

With a background in project management, Ute developed her own methodology of turning ideas into reality and is now applying the same methodology to her Purpose in Life. The first venture born out of this path is the Mastermind Hub™, the Mastermind dating site for Entrepreneurs.

Ute currently calls Wellington, New Zealand her home which has confused her enough to now considers herself a Global Citizen. Enjoy her exclusive Business Heroine interview…

BH: You have called yourself an “all-rounder” and have struggled with finding that one little niche to fit yourself in… which is what we’re often taught in business. Tell us about your journey deciding on your particular Life Purpose?

Ute: The change within me started with someone suggesting I chose 2-3 words or feelings that I wanted to experience in 2013. The words that resonated powerfully with me were Freedom and Authenticity. Strangely enough, by focusing only on these two key words, they become very prominent in my life. So every time I thought about where I wanted to be in my life, these words showed up over and over. I started to visualize what life would be like, being free to express my truth authentically as well as being free financially.

As the Vision became more prominent I realized that I could never be fully free unless everyone around me was free as well. So, I decided to live in a world where everyone is free. Now, you may say – come on – how can you change the world on my own! Of course I cannot do so – I can only ever change myself. However, when you have this incredibly grand thought, then all the small reasons of why you cannot do something, just fall away. Our mind is not capable of perceiving what it is like to create such a big Vision. And you are left with an inner wisdom and knowing on which step to take next. I feel guided and this Vision has now become my Life’s Purpose!

BH: What do you mean by your “methodology” and how are you applying it to your Life’s Purpose?

Ute: I have been a project manager for many years and in the project management world they have methodologies for managing projects; these are very process driven ways of delivering projects. It works well for small projects with repetitive tasks – however, no project is ever the same and relying on a methodology is actually incredibly stressful. A few years ago I created my own method and it has been the most consistently successful way of working that has helped me deliver multi-million dollar projects. The methodology is very simple: I focus on the end result or Vision that I want to create and really feel into this Vision. It is as if I embody, or ‘become’ the Vision. It is a visceral feeling when I am aligned with that vision. From that standpoint, I am continuously guided on what to do next, which inevitably leads to my desired outcome.

When I was focusing on the 2 words of freedom and authenticity, it occurred to me – why don’t I apply this same methodology to the Vision I want to create in my life. And so that is my Grand Experiment from which my business idea, the Mastermind Hub emerged.

BH: What is a Mastermind and how did the idea for Mastermind Hub come to you?

Ute: Do you know that feeling when you are with a group of friends and you are all having a great time and are throwing ideas around? It is like one idea triggers another idea and new insights come to you – and suddenly you get this brand new idea that feels so totally awesome, right? Well, what you tapped into was the Mastermind of all those present. That sparkling new idea came about because of everyone playing their part in the discussion. That is what a Mastermind can feel like and I’m sure that most entrepreneurs will recognize this very scenario when they first conceived of their business idea.

Last year, I wanted to start a business and joined up with one other entrepreneur to mastermind with. After one of our sessions I felt so invigorated that I thought – this is something that everyone should experience – and so my idea was born which is so much in alignment with my humongous vision of creating freedom in this world. It is also a business that is so totally suited to my talents, and I totally believe this came about because of me being in tune with my highest Vision in Life.

BH: Creative or right brained individuals often have difficulty with the structure that is associated with a Mastermind. How can you provide them with a different perspective?

Ute: I work very deliberately with masculine and feminine energy. The essence of the masculine is “structure” and the essence of the feminine is “power”. To explain this here is a really good analogy – Electricity which is called power in many countries is not fully understood. On its own it is either untapped because we don’t know how or it can be all over the place and really dangerous. Structure on its own can be quite dead and not very useful. Think of a toaster. The electricity in the wall only becomes useful when flowing through the structure of the toaster and the outcome is warm toast. You need both to create anything. However, the intention behind the structure is what creates a life enhancing experience or a killing machine.

So to put this analogy in context in the mastermind scenario: The power aspect is all members present in the mastermind, and the structure is the meeting format. When the container feels safe and supported, you will have wonderful results, if not, the experience will feel constrictive. So the issue is not really about the structure but rather about creating a safe container with a clear and supportive intention.

BH: Do you have useful hints when choosing people to mastermind with?

Ute: Firstly make sure you resonate with each other. You don’t have to be friends – you just want to feel comfortable with each other. Don’t chose people who are exactly like you – you want new perspectives and people who think differently to you. Choose people that are at a similar stage in their business, as you are in. The issues faced by someone with a high 6 figure business are different to someone who is just starting out.

BH: How can the Business Heroines access the Mastermind Hub, and what can they look forward to?

Ute: The easiest way to redefine ourselves and live an authentic and free life is to own our unique combination of gifts and talents within a business structure and thereby create the financial freedom we seek in our lives. At the Mastermind Hub™ you will find your ideal Mastermind Circle; giving you an opportunity to connect with others in growing your business to the next level at an accelerated rate. A Mastermind Circle is made up of a small group of entrepreneurs and the intention is for the collective Mastermind to focus their attention on each participant’s vision, ideas or issues they may be dealing with in their Business.
