What Are You Holding On To?

{}

Hey lovey… I know you.

And I know that you’ve got something special to share with the world.

You know, it’s that special awesome-sauce and unique story that only YOU can tell.

There is no other person on this planet that has the same combination of skills, talents, and freaky-funny abilities that you have.

Just to show you that I’m an open book, here are just a few of the many things that I do that make me unique. And I’ve been doing all of these things since I was very young:

  • I can tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue
  • I can hoola-hoop like a mo-fo
  • I’m an expert at play-dough (you should see my play-dough butterflies and caterpillars)
  • I spent much of my childhood choreographing dance routines set to the soundtrack of Flashdance (with BIG plans to perform on HUGE stages around the world)
  • I sing in the shower, in the car and when I’m cooking dinner

These are just a few of the silly things that make me ME.

You may be thinking, “What does this have to do with anything?”

It has everything to do with your dreams, your online brand presence and your overall happiness level.

Why?

I believe the secret to success and happiness is to focus on the things that we love to do and are naturally good at. This is different from mindfully developing your skills and interests with courses, college and how-to guides.

What I’m talking about are those things that you loved to do when you were little and before someone asked you the stupid question, “So, what do you want to be when you grow up?”

Why is that question stupid?

Because it suggests that you have to become something different than who you were at that time. That you were not meant to continue doing all those things that lit you up and you did instinctually.

You may be feeling a little resistance to this thought. And that’s OK. Maybe your inner gremlin is waging a war against you right now, saying things like, “That’s childish … you need to be a grown-up and don’t do those silly things anymore.”

Yes, I know that little gremlin.

We all need a grown-up plan. But when did that plan include shaking off all those things that you LOVE and bring you joy??

It’s too easy for us to fill our days with only practical, dull, mind-numbing activities and “shoulds.” (Hint: don’t “should” all over yourself.)

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard clients stop in their tracks when I suggest an out-of the box or silly brainstorming activity to creating a stand-out unique opt-in or new course that includes something artistic to get their creative juices flowing. Their first reaction is,”But I’m not an artist!”

And yet, when they lean in, let go and drop the way it “should be,” they (and you) can access a well of creativity that is just waiting to be tapped into.

I know from personal experience that building an online brand can be so much fun when you combine your natural artistic skills and allow them to shine through.

EVERYONE is an artist in their own way. That means YOU, too. We all have special skills without limitations. Whether it’s baking, knitting, climbing trees, building houses or building brands.

Somewhere along the way someone told you or just hinted that you should “conceal and don’t feel.” In other words, get serious, get a job and become a responsible adult.

 Well I say F$%k It!

LET IT GO BABY!

You only have one spin around the earth in THIS body.

What will you do with it?

Draw, paint, dance, sing, run, build, bake?

What is calling to your heart?

What is your heart is crying out for? What limiting idea, belief or expectation will you let go of right now to make space for something you love?

Because THIS LETTING GO will allow you to tap into your unique awesome-sauce self and bring it to the world.

Your tribe is waiting. I promise!
